International Centre for Information Systems and Audit (iCISA) was established by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. The centre has been rendering significant service to the Indian Audit and Accounts Department as a premier training institute since March 2002; for not only the officers from the audit and other national departments but also for overseas participants belonging to various Supreme Audit Institutions. It has been raised, equipped and developed as an elite organization to impart quality training and to act as a centre for excellence in information systems and audit of information systems. iCISA is an ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 27001 certified institution which strives for ensuring quality systems in training and alignment of IT with global best practices.
iCISA conducted eight International training programmes during 2007-08. These programmes are conducted under the Government of India’s different scholarship programmes viz. the ITEC (Indian Technical and Economic Co-operation) SCAAP (Special Commonwealth African Assistance Programme) and CP (Colombo Plan ). 226 overseas participants attended these eight international programs for getting exposure to the contemporary best practices of audit and the emerging audit concerns.
Apart from International Training programs, iCISA also organised 30 national training programs during 2007-08 for the officers of audit and other national departments. These events comprised various workshops, seminars, EDP courses.
For the year 2008-09, nine International programmes in addition to 29 national programs were planned and all such programs are being organised as scheduled. These programmes aim at providing a balanced mix of knowledge and skill development methodologies, besides giving the participants a platform to share the experiences and get exposure to the global best practices in the particular field to which the topic relates.
